“ Aqui”, is spanish word for “here”
This space for mindfulness through making and experiencing, where children naturally learn to be present because they're engaged with something real.
The best learning happens when kids forget they're learning.
In our busy world, children learn to perform, but here, they learn to truly look.
We work with children ages 6-11 years old, that sweet spot where they're naturally curious but haven't yet learned to be self-conscious about their creative expression. This is the perfect time to nurture genuine seeing before the world teaches them to perform.
As practicing artists, we share our studio time because we believe authentic creativity can't be taught from a curriculum - it emerges when children feel safe to explore.
In small bilingual groups, English flows naturally through art-making while kids discover what happens when they create from curiosity rather than judgment.
This isn't mindfulness through sitting still and talking about feelings.
